FEU, UST score first victory
as UAAP 76th Season opens

It could be anybody’s ballgame as far as this year’s UAAP basketball crown is concerned as Far Eastern University Tamaraws and the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers drew first blood against University of the East Red Warriors and De la Salle University Green Archers in the opening doubleheader Saturday in Manila.

It was a come-from-behind 89-78 win for the Tamaraws in the first game, while UST beat La Salle, 63-58, in overtime.

In taming Red Warriors, the Tamaraws unleashed a barrage of triples and converted several fastbreaks in the fastbreak to make up for a slow start.
