Lacson assures support
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said he is assuring Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. of his support for the betterment of lives and ensuring a bright future for Negros Occidental.

“I respect the governor and laud him for his achievements in the past three years,” he said.

Lacson also said he is grateful to have been given the opportunity to be one with the governor and the the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members in a simple, yet, solemn oath-taking ceremony at the Capitol in Bacolod City Saturday.

“It was a wonderful tradition to show unity on one stage as representatives of the people in the provincial government,” he said.

Lacson also said he congratulates the governor for giving “an inspiring speech, which calls for unity and cooperation among the provincial officials in the midst of many challenges we will be facing in the future.”

His speech implies that there is much work to do, and we should stand side by side, to confront the challenges together, to bring about change and development, and most of all, to make a difference in the lives of our people, Lacson said.

Negros Occidental congressmen Leo Rafael Cueva (2nd District), Jeffrey Ferrer (4th District) and Alejandro Mirasol (5th District), who were at the oath-taking ceremony, also lauded the call of Marañon for unity for the good of the province.*CPG
