Rob raps filed vs. 2
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Carnapping and robbery charges have been filed against two suspected members of a notorious robbery-hold-up group operating in central and southern Negros, arrested in Bago City recently.

Facing charges and locked up at the Bago police jail were Bernie Quinto and Paul Parceo, both residents Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, police said.

Their arrest after a series of follow-up operations yielded a .45 caliber Norinco pistol, two carnapped motorcycles and a sachet of suspected shabu, police records show.

The .45 caliber pistol taken from Parceo was identified as owned by a policeman assigned in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, and the recovered 125 Honda XRM motorcycle with a plate number BA 21315-09-246, recovered from his residence was found out to be carnapped from the Ilog Police Station.

Supt. David Cachumbo, Bago police chief, said the arrest of the two suspects was made after they robbed at gunpoint a collector of a lending firm in Brgy. Tabunan of the city, whom they divested of his P50,000 cash collections, a cellular and his motorcycle.
Meanwhile, an agrarian reform beneficiary, who is facing frustrated murder charges, was also arrested Thursday last week by the police, when he came to the Department of Agrarian Reform office in Bago City, to get his Certificate of Land Ownership award.

The arrested suspect, identified as Freddie Laz,36, is now in jail, after he failed to post bail of P200,000 as recommended by Bago Regional Trial Court Judge Frances Guanzon.

Cachumbo also reported the arrest of a certain Godfrey Heradura, alias Insik, in Brgy. Alianza, Bago City, for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Drug Act of 2001.

The search at the residence of Heradura , by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Hermenigildo Octaviano, yielded a plastic cup containing dried marijuana leaves and eight marijuana cigarets, police records also showed. *GPB
