Collector killed, 1 injured
BY SHIELA GELERA

A lending collector died and his co-worker was injured in a motorcycle mishap at Narra-Hilado streets, Bacolod City, at about 10 p.m. Friday.

Traffic Management Unit chief investigator, Senior Police Officer 1 Dennis Perma said Jonrick Doque, 22, of Zamboanga Del Norte in Mindanao, died from serious head injuries while Gilbert Moleta, 20, of Paho Dulao, Bago City in Negros Occidental, sustained minor injury. He added that both were not wearing protective helmets and were brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital where Doque was declared dead on arrival.

Investigation by PO2 Rex Eduardo showed that the Honda motorcycle with plate number 6778 FN, driven by Doque, was heading east when it bumped the rear portion of the Hyundai Galloper with plate number JDP 186, driven by Amor Firmeza, 40, of Purok Matahom, Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

The impact caused the motorcycle of Doque to be thrown behind the Honda motorcycle without plate number driven by Moleta, that was also heading east, Perma said.

“Investigation also showed that the area was not well lighted and the motorcycle driven by Doque was not functioning well”, Perma added.*SGG
