“Do not expect us to be supermen and superwomen because we cannot solve the problems of the city in just one day or a year. But if we help each other, we will get there,” Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella yesterday said during their inauguration at the Bacolod Public Plaza.

Puentevella yesterday appealed for the cooperation of the people particularly the private sector, as well as the support of other elected officials.

Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Anita Chua administered his ceremonial oath of office, while Councilors Claude Puentevella, Sonya Verdeflor, Anna Marie Palermo, Wilson Gamboa Jr. and Jocelle Batapa-Sigue were sworn in by Villamonte Barangay Captain Andre Victor Las Piñas.moremoremore

Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra asked public officials to stop their childish bickering and to serve the people of Bacolod well, during a thanksgiving mass at the San Sebastian Cathedral yesterday to celebrate the victory of elected officials of Bacolod City.

Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella also appealed to his fellow elected officials that they should help one another for the greater good of their people and the city.

The thanksgiving mass and inauguration was held during the birthday of Puentevella yesterday.moremoremore

Negros SP committee

The Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan is set to hold its inaugural session this afternoon, with Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. delivering his State of the Province Address.

Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said two items are up for approval at the SP session – the house rules and the appointment of committee chairmen and members.

An unofficial list obtained by the media shows the following committee chairmanships for Love Negros board members: Renato Gustilo – peace and order and public safety, personnel and human resource, and energy;moremoremore
