| Treats from the masters
Renowned pianists Ingrid Sala-Santamaria and Maestro Reynaldo G. Reyes performed recently to an awed audience at the Agape Hall of the Carmel of St. Joseph in Mandalagan, Bacolod City. This was the Negros Occidental leg of their 23rd “Romantic Piano Concerts, Journey Tour” for July-August 2013.
The concert presentation was in two parts, Concert # 2 in C Minor by
Sergei Rachmaninoff, and its mainstream was so appealing and very popular with strains of top tune hits, like “I’ll Be Loving You Always”, “Alone by Myself,” and “Full Moon and Empty Arms”.
Even an average audience could appreciate the first, second and third movements, that they played with such technical power and emotional warmth.
The second presentation was in b-flat minor by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The piece is close to Ingrid’s heart as it was the graduation tune of her mother at St. Scholastica’s College in Manila.
After the performance, a lovely bouquet was presented to Ingrid by Vicky Lopez, and both pianists received certificates of appreciation from Msgr. GG Gaston, who also delivered the closing remarks.*
Remember: Fear fades as faith grows. Joy comes from the Lord who lives with us, not from what’s happening around us.
