PDEA destroys P22.8M in drugs

About P22.8 million worth of shabu and marijuana was destroyed by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 6 at the Bacolod Hall of Justice, Regional Trial Court, Branch 45, at about 2:30 p.m. yesterday.

PDEA director Ronnie Delicana said they destroyed P22,729,255 worth of shabu weighing 2674.03 grams and 5251.77 grams of marijuana valued at P72,800.

The drugs were destroyed by being soaked in a chemical solution.moremoremore

Hostage taker stabs 2 cops

Two policemen, who responded to an attempted hostage-taking incident in Purok Tangkong, Brgy. 7 in Bacolod City, were injured when they were stabbed by the alleged hostage taker at about 2:15 p.m. yesterday.

Police Officer 2 Randy Abello, Station 2 case investigator, identified those injured as Senior Inspectors Jovil Sedel and Ruel Culanag, both of the Bacolod City Police Office.

Abello said Sedel, who is the Station 2 commander and Culanag, the deputy chief of the Special Operations Group, and other policemen, had responded to a call from Ana Mae Llave who said her 9-year-old son, whose name was not disclosed, was grabbed on the neck by the suspect Roberto Arac, 39, a carpenter. moremoremore

The New People’s Army revolutionary court in Negros Island has issued warrants of arrest for its eight suspects in the killing of Kabankalan Judge Henry Arles, who includes Ilog Vice Mayor John Paul Alvarez, and also summoned his father, former Vice Governor Genaro Alvarez Jr., for questioning.

It is also calling on the people to provide the NPA information that will help in the speedy arrest of the suspects, Juanito Magbanua II, NPA Apolinario Gatmaitan Command spokesperson, said in a one-page statement distributed to the media yesterday.

The Apolinario Gatmaitan Command has ordered all the NPA units under its command to launch police operations for the arrest of the Ilog vice mayor, Revolutionary Proletarian Army members Rustom Puro, Marvin Salve, Jessie Daguia, Eddie Fortunado, Alejandro Capunong and Gerald Tabujara, and Ilog government employee Emmanuel Medes, as alleged principal suspects in the killing of Arles, Magbanua said in the statement.moremoremore
