The multi-million peso Bacolod Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. business center and chamber volunteer fire brigade station on a 1,357-square meter lot at Ipil Street, Bacolod City, was inaugurated Saturday.

Alfonso Uy, national honorary president of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the decision to construct the building was made several years ago.

Uy said that beyond the imposing structure is the dream, unity, determination and the effort of the leaders and members of the BFCCCII so they can better serve the community.

The building was constructed through the donations given by the members of BFCCCII, he said.

Governor Alfreado Marañon said the construction of the new business center shows the continued trust and confidence of the Filipino Chinese businessmen in the province and in Bacolod City.

Meanwhile, FFBCCCII national president Alfonso Siy led the induction ceremony of the new officers of the BFCCCII at the Bacolod Pavillon Resort and Hotel on the same day.

Inducted into office are Benjamin Ortega - honorary president, Jimmy Ong Beng Ping - president, Wee Kiat Tan - executive vice president, Benjamin Barcelona - vice president, Arthur Yap - vice president, Corie Tan Arroz - corporate secretary, Johnny Go - assistant corporate secretary, Eisen Uy - treasurer and Dennis Chiu - assistant treasurer.

Also inducted were directors Alfredo Barcelona, Kenneth Locsin, Antonio Gayatin, Edgar Sy, Vladimir Velez, Luis Ong, William Ong Eng Kiam, Jose Tan, Cleto Marcelino Uy, Willuam Uy Sr., Eddie Garcia, Andres Valencia, Johnny Yap, David Vilanueva, Henry Ng, Willy Au and Jose Montalbo.

Siy also inducted the new set of officers of the Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Junior Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. namely Stephen Tan and Clifford Uy - honorary presidents, Mark Gomez - president Ralph Richard Tan - internal vice president, Honey Lopue - external vice president, Arvin James Chua - vice president for finance, Catherine Lee - secretary, Alexander James Chua - auditor and directors Janet Lim, Jennelyn Capalaran, Michelle Chua, Queenelene Lim, Lexter Ang, Charlton Ong, Kevin Torrejon and Lonel Richard Lopue.

Members of the chamber volunteer fire brigade led by their fire chief Bryant Lao and assistant fire chief Jose Tan Jr. also had their affirmation of the firemen’s pledge.*APN
