Basecom takes No. 1 spot in
Fil-Sino cagefest Class B

Basecom pounced on Organic Solutions, 90-78, Friday night to register a back-to-back victory and settle on top of the team standings, while Jast Enterprises upset Sweet Crystal, 77-68, in Class B action of the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at Bacolod Tay Tung Po Hang Gym.

The win against Organic Solutions came on the heels of Basecom’s dominating 74-55 performance against Royal Trading, Wednesday night, as the team established its superiority against their rivals in Class B with a 5-2 win-loss record.

In taming Organic Solutions, Luigi Coo sizzled with 30 points for Basecom while teammate Nico Yap added 25 points, 21 of them delivered in the first three quarters to give Basecom a 67-65 lead against Organic.

Retro bowlers
win NSL crown

Retro Bowlers prevailed over the twice-to-beat Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers Inc. to grab the championship in the NSL Non-rated Trio Bowling Spectacle at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City, recently.

The winning team is composed of Iran Pielago, Raymund Lopez, Cero Cordova and Lyndon Reyes, while the first runner-up squad was led by Cecil Silverio with Romulo Ramos, Rey Boy, Cesar Sumaylo, Orly Guiljon and Johann Genolos.

Retro won the final match, 356-350. to grab the tournament’s crown and the top purse.

FEU Tamaraws stay
unbeaten in UAAP

The Far Eastern University Tamaraws claimed their sixth straight victim at the expense of last year’s runner-up University of Sto. Tomas Growling Tigers, 77-67, to keep their record unblemished in the UAAP Seniors Men's Basketball Tournament at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City yesterday.

The duo of Terrence Romeo and RR Garcia continued to deliver a stellar performance with Romeo scoring 19 points, while Garcia tallied 17 markers and grabbed four rebounds to silence the Tigers.

Hanging on to a six-point lead at the end of the third quarter, Romeo and Garcia scored five straight points give the Tamaraws some breathing room as the Tigers struggled with their offense.
