Basecom battles Royal Star
 for Fil-Sino Class B crown

Top seed Basecom and No. 2 Royal Star Trading registered contrasting victories to arrange a titular showdown in Class B of the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at TTHS Po Hang gym.

Basecom won in convincing fashion, 68-51, against Jast Enterprises while Royal Star continued their mastery over Sweet Crystal, 68-63.

Looking to repeat their upset victory against Basecom last Friday, Jast Enterprises held a 12-10 opening quarter lead.

Willtrade fortifies
title-retention bid

Defending champion Team 1 Willtrade Marketing turned back Team 6 Mang Inasal/Jomabo, 94-76, to strengthen its bid for a back-to-back title in the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Alumni Basketball Tournament at the Po Hang Gym in Bacolod City, a press release from the BTTHS Sports Office said.

With their vaunted old guards from Batch 81/91, Willtrade stormed to a 30-14 lead in the first quarter as they forced the Batch 86 players from Mang Inasal/Jomabo to commit crucial turnovers.

BCHS ’72 bags crown in
Triangular bowlfest

Bacolod City High School Class 72/76 won in the Class A division, and Domingo Lacson National High school Class ’75 and Negros Occidental High School Class’97 in Bracket B and C of the BCNHS/NOHS/DLNHS Bowlfest For Unity 2013, recently at the Negros Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The City High bowlers stopped NOHS’82/86/89-combined in the deciding match, 555-544, to win the championship in the premiere division.

NOHS’82, led by Mae Trayfalgar and Azela Tejada, defeated the champions in their first final encounter, 542-538, to force a decider.
