Sagay police arrest
‘Salisi’ gang member

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A “Salisi Gang” member who victimized a fish vendor in Sagay City, Negros Occidental Sunday was arrested by the police who responded immediately to the complaint.

The victim, identified as fish vendor Sherlita Barsales, almost lost her bag containing more than P100,000 in cash, to the suspect, Michael Tagahoc, if not for the immediate response of the Sagay police, Chief Inspector Edel Jose Manzano, city police chief, said.

Barsales said the suspect took her bag, while she was busy attending to a customer, at the Sagay public market.

Tagahoc, who claimed to be a resident of Cebu, told ABS-CBN that the money he took from Barsales, was for his transportation fare to Cebu.

Manzano said they are investigating Tagahoc to see if he has companions engaged in similar activities in Sagay City, and neighboring areas.

Tagahoc is now in jail, pending the filing of theft charges against him.*GPB
