Paglaum brgy
plebiscite after May 13

BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

The Commission on Elections will schedule the plebiscite to ratify the creation of Barangay Paglaum after the May 13 national and local elections.

Teopisto Elnas Jr., Comelec acting deputy executive director for Operations, said the plebiscite for the ratification of Paglaum into a distinct and independent barangay will be scheduled after the May 13 elections, provided that all the necessary documents relative to the matter have been complied with.

This was in response to the letter of Bacolod Councilor Carlos Jose Lopez suggesting that the plebiscite be held on July 26.

The Comelec en banc had earlier adopted the recommendation of Bartolome Simocruz Jr. of the Office of the Deputy Executive Director for Operations, to schedule to another time after the May 13 elections, the plebiscite to ratify the creation of Barangay Paglaum.*CGS
