He said the Mayor will then issue a notice to proceed to Metrowaste, the contractor that won the bidding for the privatization of garbage collection in Bacolod, and it will have 10 days from receipt of the notice to implement the project.moremoremore

BFP names fire prone
areas in city

BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Barangays 1, 16, Banago, Bata and Sincang-Airport in Bacolod City are considered fire-prone, the assessment made by the Bureau of Fire Protection showed, Insp. Publio Ploteña, said yesterday.

Ploteña said there are areas in these barangays like Rodriguez Baybay in Brgy. 16 and Sitio Magsungay in Brgy. Singcang-Airport with narrow pathways making it difficult for firemen to respond during fire incidents.

He said they will conduct a house-to-house fire prevention campaign in these areas, and in other places in Bacolod this week as part of their fire-prevention month activities.moremoremore
