Multiple raps
filed vs. ‘robber'

Multiple charges for robbery, attempted homicide and carnapping were filed yesterday before the Bacolod City Prosecutor's Office against an alleged notorious robber, who was tagged as one of the three men who held up a couple and divested them of P200,000 in cash collection.

Station 1 commander, Chief Insp. Danilo Francisco, said charged was Jestoni del Prado, “alias Biboy”, 26, of Purok Mainabiabihon in Brgy. 35, Bacolod. His two companions remain unidentified, the police said.

Francisco said del Prado was positively identified by Mario and Girlie Dagumon, both 40, of Luzuriaga Street, Brgy. 29, Bacolod, as one of those who waylaid them at about 8:30 p.m. on March 4, while they were buying food near the Bacolod Central Market.

The police said del Prado's companion allegedly shot the husband but his gun malfunctioned, took the wife hostage, and used their multi-cab as getaway vehicle.

About three hours later, Mrs. Dagumon and the multi-cab were left by the suspects at Hacienda Lizares in Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod.

Del Prado, who is now at large, his cousin Jesus Niepes, “alias Panot”, and Ruben Evangelista, “alias Agi”, 40, of Brgy. Purisima, Manapla town, Negros Occidental, were tagged as suspects in the rape-slay of two minor house helpers, whose bodies were found at the house of their employers at Villa Angela Subdivision in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod, in March 2010, police records show.

Del Prado was also accused of robbing and attempting to kill his neighbor, a call center agent, in June 2010, the police added.*APN

Two facing homicide,
frustrated slay charges

Two suspects, one a minor, will be charged for homicide and frustrated homicide before the Bacolod City Prosecutor's Office today for the death of a laborer and the injury of his colleague in Brgy. Cabug, Bacolod, Sunday.

Station 9 commander, Chief Insp. Placido Gentoleo, yesterday said the charges will be filed against Benjamin Cesista, 18, of Brgy. Inayawan in Cauayan town, Negros Occidental, and his neighbor, 17, whose name the police withheld.

Cesista and the minor allegedly ganged up on and stabbed Mark Wilson, 20, and Ernie Tingson, 22, both of Purok Kawayanan, Brgy. Cabug, during a brawl in the purok at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Gentoleo said.

Wilson succumbed to multiple stab wounds while being treated at the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center at about 6 p.m. Sunday, while Tingson was still confined at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital yesterday but was already out of danger, Gentoleo said.

The minor will be referred to the Women and Children's Complaints Desk while Cesista, who was nabbed with a three-edged knife, is detained at the lockup cell of Police Station 9.

Case investigator, Police Officer 2 Eman Anacleto, said an old grudge was the motive for the stabbing.*APN

Two facing homicide,
frustrated slay charges

Bacolod City Police officer-in-charge, Senior Supt. Edgardo Ordaniel, yesterday told the Traffic Management Unit to request for additional office supplies so its operations will not be hampered.

Ordaniel was reacting to the complaint of a resident that TMU personnel did not give him a copy of a blotter report because they have no serviceable printer.

He said this should not be a reason for the TMU not to perform their job because the BCPO Supply Office has equipment and items to replace unserviceable ones.

Senior Police Officer 1 Dennis Perma, TMU chief investigator, said they have two printers, one issued by the BCPO and the other lent to them by a lawyer. Only one of them is functioning, he added, but did not say which one.

He added they only have three computers for about nine traffic investigators.

Perma said they had already requested for additional equipment from their former supply officer but they have not received them yet.*APN
