Solenn at USLS March 16

French-Filipina television host and actress Solenn Heussaff will be at the University of St. La Salle coliseum in Bacolod City 7 p.m. on March 16, for the “Boyfriends and I” concert, a press release from organizers said.

The night of singing, dancing and fun also features Daniel Padilla, Enrique Gil, Daniel Matsunaga and comedians Timi and Ayee, the press release also said.

Meanwhile, GMA Network is encouraging Negrenses aged 7 to 17 years old, who can sing, dance, or do both, to prepare a 2-minute performance and join the first leg of the regional auditions on March 23, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at SM City Bacolod.

Interested participants must be accompanied by a parent, or guardian, and bring a certified true copy and photocopy of birth certificate, and studio photos of one close-up and one full body shots, a press release from the station said.

Girl Scout poster tilt Saturday

Around 40 star, junior and senior girl scouts from various divisions of Negros Occidental will participate in the on-the-spot poster-making contest of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines Neg. Occ. Council 9 a.m. on March 16, at its headquarters in Singcang, Bacolod City.

The contest is in line with the celebration of the GSP Diamond Jubilee in 2015, on the theme, “Once a Girl Scout, Always a Girl Scout: Celebrating 75 years of Service”, a press release from the GSP said.

The posters will form part of printed materials which will be used in the celebration in May 2015, Council executive director Carmencita Roble said. The poster should be 22”x30” in size; of illustration board, cartolina or canvas; and using watercolor, paste, or oil as medium.

Cash prizes and certificates are at stake for three winning entries per age level, and winners will have the chance to compete in the regional level, the press release also said.

Rivas guest of honor
at Gatuslao exhibit

Monsignor Victorino Rivas, rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and judicial vicar of the Diocese of Bacolod, will be the guest of honor at the second solo exhibition of Dorothy “Dolly” Ramos-Gatuslao, titled “Spiritual Rendition II”, that opens at 5 p.m. on March 19 at the Negros Museum in Bacolod City.

The exhibition, that will run until the end of April, will include life-sized painting in oil of the Our Lady of Guadalupe, and the Blessed Trinity, together with one of Gatuslao’s most treasured pieces from her personal collection, the Face of Jesus, both done on pastel, a press release said.

Gatuslao said she will share part of the proceeds to Domus Dei of Hacienda Jalandoni, Silay City, Negros Occidental.*
