Welcome party
Relatives and friends of Tina Cruz Ebrada, wife of the late Ben Ebrada of Cebu, warmly welcomed her to the City of Smiles for a short visit.
When she arrived yesterday from Cebu to visit Dr. Harriet Feria Divino for three days, Tina was greeted by best friend Mely Jara Jaro, who arrived also yesterday from Manila, and classmates Arturo de Luzuriaga, Nelly and Paeng Salvador, Toti Ramos and John Guatelara from the Provincial High school Class 1949. Cousins, nieces and nephews were also present.
They all enjoyed the spread of mouthwatering dishes and desserts, as they reminisced about old times and, of course, the hot topic for the day – the selection of Argentinian Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio as the first non-European pope, and also first to take the name Francis, in honor of the 12th-century Italian saint from Assisi, who spurned wealth to pursue a life of poverty.
For Tina, it was a memorable get-together of old friends and kin.*
