In Dumaguete City, partial unofficial tally as of 11:08:05 p.m. representing 46.73 percent, or 43 of 92 ERs, showed reelectionist Mayor Manuel “Chiquiting” Sagarbarria of NPC with 16,395 votes against Alan Gel Cordova, LP, with 8,815; and Woodrow Maquiling Sr., NPC, with 14,731 votes, and Joe Kenneth Arbas, LP, 9,272 votes.
In the congressional race, for first district – Manuel Iway of LP garnered 24,371 votes; Jerry Paras of NPC, 23,638; Lowell Andaya, Independent, 1,259; and Danilo Roble, IND, 324; second district – incumbent Rep. George Arnaiz of NPC, 42,053; Karen Villanueva, LP, 33,653; and Raul Aniñon, IND, 899; and, third district – incumbent Rep. Henry Teves of NPC leads the race at 24,450 votes, followed by Marcelo Adanza of LP, 11,220, the results showed.
The unofficial tally also showed that the top three bets for the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in the first district are LP candidates Dok Liland Estacion, with 25,348 votes; Ikay Villanueva, 23,054; and Georgita Martinez, 17,542; the second district was dominated by NPC bets Erwin Michael Macias, 28,404; Mariant Escaño-Villegas, 26,399; and Melliemoore Saycon, 25,237 votes; while in the third district, the leading bets are Peve Obaniana-Ligan, NPC, with 11,905 votes; Bonbon Lim, LP, 11,505; and Edmund Dy, NPC, 10,931.
In Siquijor, the partial unofficial tally as of 11:08:05 p.m., representing 26.76 percent, or 38 of 142 ERs, showed gubernatorial bet Jecoy Villa of LP with 7,811 votes and Orville Fua, Lakas, 6,565; vice gubernatorial: Fernando Avanzado, LP, 7,261 votes against Art Pacatang of Lakas, 6,167.
In the race for the Lone District, the late Jay Pernes, substituted by his wife, Marie Anne Pernes (see related story), minimally led with 7,600 votes against incumbent Orlando Fua Jr. of Lakas with 6,856 votes, the results showed.*CGC
