‘No liquor ban violator'

No violators of the Commission on Elections liquor ban has been noted in Bacolod, so far, the Bacolod City Police Office yesterday said.

BCPO officer-in-charge, Senior Supt. Edgardo Ordaniel, said policemen were on patrol operations from Sunday until 1 a.m. yesterday, and no establishment or individual had been caught violating the prohibition.

The police also recorded only minor incidents, like blocking of vehicles, and these were not even related to the elections yesterday, Ordaniel said.

He added people are now more aware of laws regarding the polls, and are complying with them.

The BCPO, meanwhile, distributed flyers at polling centers yesterday to remind the public of prohibited acts during the elections, like vote-buying and harassment, Ordaniel said.*SHIELA G. GELERA
