13 sure winners

Thirteen candidates for mayor and vice mayor in Negros Occidental were sure winners in yesterday's polls even if the only vote they got was one.

That is because they were all running unopposed, COMELEC records show.

The seven unopposed mayoral bets are incumbents Gerardo Pomar Valmayor Jr. (NPC) of San Carlos City, David Albert Rubin Lacson (NPC/UNA) – EB Magalona, Ramon Diasnes Torres (NPC) – Bago City, Enrique Montilla III (Isabela), Isidro Perez Zayco (NPC) – Kabankalan City, John Rey Dadivas Tabujara (NPC) – Cauayan, and newcomer Miguel Consing Peña (NPC) – Pulupandan, COMELEC records show.

Unopposed for vice mayor are Edgar Baltazar Pagayonan (LP/UNA) of Manapla, Narwin Javelosa (UNA) – Sagay City, Nilo Jesus Lizares (LP) – Talisay, Luis de Jesus Jalandoni III (UNA) – La Carlota City, Antonio Esteban Suatengco (UNA) – Pulupandan, and Delia Ordoyo Anacan (NPC) – Kabankalan.*CPG
