Around 450 indigent residents of Bais City in Negros Oriental availed of the free medical and dental civic action program sponsored by the Rotary Club of Dumaguete City East, at the Negros Oriental State University Bais campus gymnasium yesterday, a press release from organizers said.
The outreach included medical consultation, dental services, circumcision, eye and blood pressure examinations. It was co-sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bais City, Silliman University Medical Center Foundation Inc., Philippine Dental Association-Negros Oriental Chapter, Bais City Health Unit, and the Philippine Army 302nd Brigade.
Col. Francisco Patrimonio, 302nd Brigade commander, said their participation in the MEDCAP was in line with continuing efforts to delivering basic health services to less privileged residents, especially in conflict-affected areas of the province.
The Brigade MEDCAP Team, led by 1Lt. Roel Morales Jr., also participated in the medical and dental mission at Villanueva Park in San Jose, Negros Oriental, that benefited around 130 residents, the press release added.*
