| Two art exhibitions ongoing
“Art at the District”, a group exhibition of the Association of Negros Artists, opened at The District Ayala North Point in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, and will run until June 2, a press release from the group said.
It features the paintings of Joan Honoridez, Mache Belangel-de la Torre, Bea Mocorro, Bing Sedonio and Benjamin Valenciano, and Bisai Ya, guest artist from Dubai, sent her works from the UAE, the press release also said.
Don Salvador Benedicto mayor-elect Joemax Ortiz and Daisy Sanchez of the Department of Agrarian Reform cut the ribbon to open the exhibit Monday.
Ortiz said he is open to the proposal of an Artist’s Village in the town, as DSB, the “Little Baguio of Negros,” the press release added.
Meanwhile, “Pamilya Pintura Padayon,” an archival exhibition of Pamilya Pintura artists’ group, opened last night at the Gallery Orange in Lopue’s Mandalagan Annex, Bacolod City, and will run until June 12, a press release from the group said.
The activity commemorates the 34th year anniversary of the group, a brainchild of visual artist Nunelucio Alvarado, with Dennis Ascalon, Perry Argel, Gerry Baguio, Charlie Co, Clem Del Castillo, Dan Dojillo, Wendy Dungon, Boy and Roy Garovillo, Mylene Henares, Boysie Imperial, Bobby Longno, Ana Lopez, Mario Lubrico Jr., Oscar Moises, Diokno Pasilan, Monet Ramos, Jojo Regollo, Norberto Roldan, Santiago Rosado, Bobby Solmayor, Tikboy Tonogbanua, Toto Tarrosa, Eva Yu and Nonoy Zuñiga, family, friends, and other supporters, the press release also said.
The group had held exhibitions at the La Consolacion College, Holiday Inn in Manila, Galleria San Sebastian, Sulambaw Grill, Bargain Square roofdeck, the Cactus Room during MassKara 1985, and at the AAB Gallery in 1997, the press release added.*
