Paglaum plebiscite urged
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

The counsel for the petitioners of Barangay Paglaum reiterated their appeal to the Commission on Elections to conduct the plebiscite for the barangay.

Gemeno Ymballa, in his letter to acting Deputy Executive Director Teopisto Elnas Jr. dated May 20, 2013, said the Comelec en banc, had re-scheduled the Barangay Paglaum plebicite in Bacolod City after the May 13 midterm elections instead of Dec. 15, 2012, based on Resolution No. 12-1004 dated Nov. 13, 2012.

Ymballa requested the Comelec to set the plebiscite on the proposed date set by Bacolod Councilor Carlos Jose Lopez on July 26 and noted by the Commission en banc through Resolution no. 13-0096 dated Jan. 22, 2013.

He also submitted the letter of City Treasurer Annabelle Badajos certifying to the availability of funds amounting to P3 million for the conduct of the plebiscite.*CGS
