The 130th birthday of “GV”

The thanksgiving mass for the 130th birth anniversary of Don Generoso Villanueva on October 21 was officiated by Father Arrojo, and attended by the members of the first to fourth generation of the Villanueva clan.

After the mass, teachers from the Generoso Villanueva National High School presented a musical medley of the latest hits, before the awarding of the winners of the photography contest initiated by the clan was held. I observed that the winners of the grand to the consolation prizes are all graduates of La Consolacion College. The photographs were of the various vantage points, nooks and crannies of the mansion.

A grand tour of the mansion was conducted after the sumptuous dinner enjoyed by everybody. Perla, Ninfa and Nena Leonardia and I noted that it was very inspiring to watch the younger generation of the Villanuevas busily checking if their elders, guests, and relatives were also enjoying themselves.
