DOST slates nutrition forum

A monitoring meeting and media forum on nutrition communication will be conducted by the Department of Science and Technology in coordination with the Food and Nutrition Institute tomorrow at the Sugar Workers Development Center in Bacolod City.

DOST Provincial Director Alan Francis Daraug said media and information officers of government offices will be provided with knowledge on food nutrition research and technology concerns during this activity.

Daraug said there will also be sharing of experiences in promoting food and nutrition information among the participants.

This year they will be presenting the nutrition situation with emphasis on micronutrient malnutrition while information on protein energy malnutrition and its consequences will also be discussed, he also said.

The forum will also focus on the Philippine Food fortification program and meal safety.*APN
