Man shot dead in Bacolod
A man was gunned down by still unidentified killer at a pathway in Purok Narra Baybay, Brgy. 8 in Bacolod City, at about 10:10 p.m. Friday.
The fatality was identified as Errol Donguines, alias “Bulldog”, 28, by Senior Insp. Jovil Sedel, Station 2 chief.
He said Donguines sustained gunshot wounds on his head and chest and was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival by attending physician, Dr. Calvin Fernandez.
Police investigation showed that residents in the purok heard several gun- shots, and few minutes after, they saw Donguines at a dark portion of the place near a sari-sari store, lying at the ground and bathed in his blood.
Four fired cartridges of a .9 mm pistol were recovered at the crime scene, were turned over to the Provincial Crime Laboratory for examination, Sedel said.
He said they had not responded immediately to the incident since they received information about it, only after 45 minutes.
Sedel said a resident claimed that, before the incident, two men, who were wearing caps and of large body build, were asking about the whereabouts of Donguines.
He said Donguines was the suspect in several robbery hold-up incidents in Bacolod, and had also allegedly been engaged in illegal drugs.
He had also been charged for firearm possession, attempted murder, and resisting arrest, for lobbing a hand grenade at policemen in April this year, police records show.
He was nabbed April but posted bail in October, Sedel said.
Recently, one of his neighbors, whose name was not disclosed, reported to Station 2 that Donguines snapped him, Sedel added.*SGG back
