BUS G extends cash donation
to `Yolanda’ victims in Leyte

The Bacolod City-based Basketball Unified Sports Group, headed by Bing Soyao, decided to cancel its annual Christmas Party and donate its budget for the typhoon victims, to encourage other sports associations and clubs to share in easing the misery of typhoon `Yolanda’ victims.

Soyao and BUSG Core Committee, along with its 60-strong members voted unanimously on Friday to send P15,000 through ABS  CBN Sagip  Kapamilya to Leyte, a press release from the group said.

Included in the cash donation is the P3,500 token cash prize for the top three winners in its 2013 Sharp Cup Inter-Color Basketball Tournament that ended on November 13.

Condura, skippered by Vic Duenas, took the title via a 66-55 win over Sanyo last at JGC gym at Goldenfields Commercial Complex.  Sanyo was managed by Rene Antones and Edgar Basco while the Boboy Antones -led Panasonic finished third and Syntax at fourth place, the  press release said.

Soyao said that the P11,500 was intended for its year-end BUS G affair but the Huskies felt the affected families in typhoon-stricken areas need it more, the press release said.

The club is scheduled to hold the induction of its new members and the Core Committee on December 14,*
