NOPSSCEA taps Tee as
tournament manager

Remaining games in all levels of the NOPSSCEA basketball will resume this week after the change in leadership of the Sports Task Force committee and the appointment of Bobby Tee as the new basketball tournament manager.

Tee, president of the Basketball Coaches Association of Negros, replaced Dante Albao of West Negros University who quit his post after the resignation of former Sports TF chairman Anthony Carlo Agustin.

Tee met with acting sports committee chairman Rev. Edwin Madlangbayan, Friday, on the schedule of the remaining games, including the best-of-three championship series in men’s basketball between University of St. La Salle and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.

Province, PPBC share lead
in BCAN 35-Up basketball

Province of Negros Occidental beat LLZ Homi Warriors, 104-79, while Police Basketball Club prevailed over Talisay Basketball Athletic Club, 98-90, to share the top spot in the 35-Up Open Basketball Tournament at West Negros University Gym, Saturday, a press release from the organizers said.

The Capitol boys and the policemen are carrying a similar 3-1 win-loss record in this competition is sponsored by the Tourism Department of the Provincial Government and organized by the Basketball Coaches Association of Negros.

Also registering a win is the UNAC cages who turned back SeaOil, 86-59.

BUS G extends cash donation
to `Yolanda’ victims in Leyte

The Bacolod City-based Basketball Unified Sports Group, headed by Bing Soyao, decided to cancel its annual Christmas Party and donate its budget for the typhoon victims, to encourage other sports associations and clubs to share in easing the misery of typhoon `Yolanda’ victims.

Soyao and BUSG Core Committee, along with its 60-strong members voted unanimously on Friday to send P15,000 through ABS  CBN Sagip  Kapamilya to Leyte, a press release from the group said.

Included in the cash donation is the P3,500 token cash prize for the top three winners in its 2013 Sharp Cup Inter-Color Basketball Tournament that ended on November 13.
