PNP outpost sought
for high school

A Dumaguete City High School guidance counselor is requesting that the police outpost at the school’s premises be re-established as a deterrent to the illegal drugs problem.

In a forum for Drug Abuse, Prevention and Control Week observance, Mary Jude Antonniette Enardecido said the students are vulnerable to enticement by illegal drugs peddlers in the area or even inside the campus. She said some students tend to be wayward and it is impossible for the school security guard to keep peace in the big campus and also be on the lookout for illegitimate transactions.

A police outpost previously set at the school is no longer functional, she said.

Enardecido said the school in Barangay Calindagan is advocating against illegal drugs use and is engaged in activities that could curb the menace. She also suggested the deployment of police personnel in civilian clothes.*JFP
