Boys and Girls Week declared
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

A resolution declaring Nov. 25 to 29, 2013 as “Boys and Girls Week”, was approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City during its regular session Wednesday.

Councilor Caesar Distrito, chairperson of the Committee on Laws, Ordinances and Good Government, sponsored the resolution.

The declaration was made on the request of Fernando Feria, chairman of the Boys and Girls Week Celebration of the Rotary Club of Bacolod, that was endorsed by the Office of the City Mayor.

Feria said Boys and Girls Week is an annual activity initiated by the Rotary Club of Bacolod where boys and girls coming from schools in the city have the chance to take over and perform the functions and activities of the departments and offices of the City Government for a week.

Distrito said this is their way of giving importance to the youth by exposing them to responsibilities they will face as future leaders.*CGS
