The National Electrification Administration has approved the release of funds for the electrification of 38 sitios in the first district of Negros Occidental.
Edita Bueno, NEA administrator in a letter to Rep. Julio Ledesma IV (Neg. Occ., 1st District) said that the release of the 2013 subsidy fund is part of the government's program for "inclusive growth and poverty reduction."
The fund, amounting to more than P60 million, was released through the VMC Rural Electric Service Cooperative Inc., recently, Bueno, was quoted as saying in a press release from Ledesma’s office.
"We have advised the VRESCO management to ensure timely completion of the projects," she said.
In the first district, Calatrava topped the list with the most sitios under the program with 14, Escalante City has 12, while San Carlos and Toboso have six sitios each, the press release added.*
