graft raps vs. Puentevella

The Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the filing of information before the Sandiganbayan against Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella, Victorino Tirol of the Department of Education, and supplier Jessie Garcia after finding probable cause to indict them for acting in violation of RA 3019, or the Anti Graft and Corrupt Practice Act.

The resolution penned by Assistant Special Prosecutor Anna Isabel Aurellano, and approved by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales on October 2, 2013, said all the elements constituting a violation of Republic Act No. 3019, are present in the case against them.moremoremore

Post-quake inspection held in
Bacolod schools, churches

The Office of the Building Official formed two groups to inspect the extent of damage caused by the magnitude 7.2 earthquake to infrastructures in Bacolod City, OBO head Isidro Sun, said yesterday.

The teams composed of civil, electrical and mechanical engineers, inspected different schools, business establishments and churches yesterday, he said.

They have inspected the Bacolod City Hall, West Negros University, La Consolacion College and the San Sebastian Cathedral, where they noted cracks at the bell tower.moremoremore

P3B NegOcc budget pushed

The proposed 2014 annual general fund budget of the provincial government of Negros Occidental, including its Economic Enterprise Development Department, had reached P3 billion.

Of the proposed budget, P2,125,170,888 has been earmarked for next year's budget of the province, and P874,889,721 for its Economic Enterprise Development Department.

The proposed budget was submitted by the executive branch of the provincial government, headed by Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, for deliberation and approval.moremoremore
