Power rates down 31 cents

Power rates for residential consumers of Central Negros Electric Cooperative decreased by 31 centavos this month, Ceneco general manager Sulpicio Lagarde announced yesterday.

Lagarde said electricity bill for October will reflect charges of P8.9492/kWh compared to last month's P9.2653/kWh.

The generation charges, the biggest contributory factor in the rate impact, decreased by P0.205 or 3.89 percent compared to the previous month due to the lower price in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market.moremoremore

for brgy polls in NegOcc

A total of 16,447 candidates are vying for barangay captain and kagawad in Negros Occidental, Commission on Elections records show.

At stake are 662 positions for barangay captain and 4,634 for kagawad. Voters will elect a barangay captain and seven kagawads in the October 28 elections.

for sisterhood tie with Bacolod

The Consul General of the People's Republic of China said he hopes Bacolod City will forge a sister-city relationship with one of the cities of China in the future, during a breakfast fellowship at the Bacolod City Government Center yesterday.

Zhang and former President Fidel V. Ramos were welcomed by Mayor Monico Puentevella to Bacolod City during a program at the Government Center.

Zhang Wei Gou said this is the second time he has visited Bacolod. He said China and the Philippines have a long history of friendship.moremoremore
