Lacson congratulates Ontal
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said he is extending his congratulations to Negrense, Franz Ontal, head of inspector training of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, that won this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.

“Ontal’s life should serve as an inspiration to all Negrenses and Filipinos to be of service to other people, regardless of race and culture,” Lacson said.

“Ontal is teaching us that, beyond self, to save humanity and the establishment of peace is far more important, not only in our province and country, but also in other corners of the world,” he added.

“May Ontal’s life remind us that we should continue to serve others no matter how we are faced with challenges in our everyday lives”, Lacson also said.

“We are very much blessed to have Ontal, a Negrense, as a member of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. He is one of the very few Negrenses who made a mark in the world stage. His life is worthy of emulation,” Lacson added.*CPG
