The Real Property Taxes collection of Bacolod City increased by 28.67 percent compared to last year based on records of the Bacolod City Assessor’s Office from January to February this year, City Assessor Maphilindo Polvora said yesterday.
Polvora said the collection of the Land Tax Division showed that as of January to February, they collected RPT of P23,167,000 compared to P16,704,000 in 2013 covering the same period.
Acting Mayor Greg Gasataya said that in an informal meeting with the department heads yesterday he raised the concern of some of the barangay captains about the reduction in their Internal Revenue Allotment share.


Capitol distributes P2.6M
in livestock, dairy projects
The Livestock and Dairy Fair 2014 was highlighted yesterday by the distribution of P2.6 million worth of projects to beneficiaries by the Negros Occidental Provincial Veterinary Office.
Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena said P280,000 worth of compost from the Negros First Ranch and P524,000 worth of veterinary kits and drugs were given to paravets.
Decena said they also gave 560 piglets, all valued at P1.4 million, to local hog raisers associations, and P401,000 worth of kabir chickens and peking ducks to livestock producers.
