TLDC fair opens, too

The week-long Trade Fare and Exhibit of locally made products spearheaded by the Technology and Livelihood Development Center opened at the Panaad Park and Stadium yesterday.

TLDC Project Development Officer 3 Gerard Tupas, said 40 entrepreneurs from local government units are competing this year in various categories – food, personal accessories and home furnishing.

Tupas said the products displayed that include furniture, fashion jewelry, and accessories and native delicacies, will be judged on Saturday and the winners in each category will be announced at the closing rites of the Panaad festival Sunday.

He said the exhibit is not only a competition, but it is also a venue for local entrepreneurs, trained by TLDC coordinators, to showcase their products so visitors coming to the Panaad park may see them.

Tupas also said only at the TLDC exhibit can the local entrepreneurs showcase their products, because they cannot afford other exhibitions by other groups, which, he said, is expensive.

The Trade Fare and Exhibit is one of the attractions at the 21st Panaad sa Negros Festival at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City that kicked off yesterday.*APN
