The Department of Agriculture, through the Bureau of Animal Industry, gave the provincial government of Negros Oriental recently various breeds of livestock for dispersal to target beneficiaries.
Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo welcomed the development, and said one priority of the provincial government is to create jobs and livelihood opportunities.
The BAI turned over the first batch of 39 Anglonovian goats to Degamo for distribution to 15 farmer-beneficiaries in the province.
BAI representatives also informed the governor that the province is a recipient of various breeds of livestock for dispersal to another group of beneficiaries.
These include 10 cows, 10 carabaos and 15 goats, that will be released as soon as Degamo identified as the farmer beneficiaries.
Degamo said this will help the provincial government to provide livelihood opportunities, especially to the farmers.*JFP
