Class ’75 takes lead
in DLNHS bowlfest

Class ’75 topped the elimination round in Class A division, as Cluster Team was the No.1 in category B of the Domingo Lacson National High School General Alumni Homecoming Inter-class Bowling Tournament at the Super Bowling Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The Class A leader led by Rowena Juarez, posted 7,027 points for the top place to go into the up-the-ladder finals on April 11. The team also had the highest single with 566 pinfalls and triple records with 1,629.

Cluster Team earned 6,749 after the elimination round to lead in Bracket B.

Hoping to join Class ’75 in Class A finals are Claa’78, ’77, ’71, and ’73, while competing with Cluster squad in Bracket B are ’88; ‘92; ’80, and’89.

For individual awards, Melchor Semillano of Class’77 and Juarez of’75 are the top favorites for the master’s plum after topping the elimination rounds of the top 10 bowlers.

The battle for the master bowler title will be on April 4 at the Super Lanes.

Challenging Juarez for the title in the women’s division are Luisa Lobaton and Marnie Arante of Class’77, Lorena Arot (’78), Jessica Timbang(’80); Cecilia Alib (Cluster); Normalyn Jalandoni (’92); Marlyn Banaglorioso (’73); Marilou Maceda, and Ninfa Ramos (’71).

With Semillano in the men’s bracket are Herbert Pediongco (’73); Rodney Bojos (’78); Statches (’77); Wlifredo Arante (’75); Sammy Gaitan (’71); Rey Gargar (’75); Wilfredo Rivo (’92); Larry De la Cruz (’77), and Carlos de la Cruz (’73).

De la Cruz holds the record for the men’s highest pinning with 96; Herbert Pediongco in single with 139 and Joe Banguiran (’75) in triple with 369.

Cherry Garcia of Class ’78 holds the record in the women’s pinning with 92, and Juarez in single and triple with 131 and 326, respectively.*HLG
