Tomb desecrated
BY SHIELA GELERA

A tomb at the Bacolod City Public Cemetery in Brgy. Villamonte was desecrated by still unidentified suspects, recently, a police report said.

Senior Insp. Benedicto Villarias told the DAILY STAR yesterday the tomb at the 5th level of the “apartment style” burial place had been purposely destroyed.

Villarias said some of tombs in the cemetery that were ruined had not been destroyed by persons, but by several trees that have been uprooted.

Initial investigation showed that the suspects, the police believed to be teenagers, cracked the tomb open to get the steel in them to sell to junkshops.

Villarias said Police Station 4 received the report about the destroyed tomb only on Saturday.*SGG
