The first public hearing on the authored ordinance that will create a PhilHealth Per Family Payment Rate Program, was conducted by Bacolod Councilor Wilson Gamboa, Jr. Friday, a press release from his office said.
Originally called the PhilHealth Capitation Fund Ordinance, the ordinance will include benefits for both in-patient and out-patient consultations of qualified indigent families of Bacolod City who are enrolled under the sponsored programs of the nationally-funded National Housing Targeting System and the Local Government Unit Sponsorship, the press release said.
During the hearing, representatives of PhilHealth explained that membership premiums of the NHTS are paid by the Department of Health to the PhilHealth, while in LGU-sponsored prior payment of membership premium fixed by PhilHealth per indigent beneficiary will be made by the City to PhilHealth, the press release said.
It also said that the PFPR program will be released on quarterly basis by PhilHealth to the City Government of Bacolod and the total amount received will then be deposited in a trust account to be managed by the city through the City Health Office.
“The priority of the local and the national government is to ensure that all Filipinos will have access to health care services through universal health care,” Gamboa said in his press release.* back
