The Negros Occidental Procurement Service Depot was awarded as Top Client by the Procurement Service Central Office for its sales amounting to P74.53 million, in a ceremony held at Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City, Monday, a press release from the Capito said yesterday.
The award was presented by PS Central Office Executive Director, Estanislao Granados, Jr. To Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Procurement and Technical Services Division Head, Mina Pellejo, in time for the 10th year anniversary celebration of the Negros Occ. PS Depot.
The depot in Negros Occ. was the first in the country operated by the Department of Budget and Management Procurement Service jointly with the local government unit.
The PS Depot in the province was established and inaugurated on March 29, 2004, the press release said.
In ten years, it has served a total of 378 client-agencies generating total sales of P328.77 million from March 2004 up to February 2014, with a Net Income of P10 million.
On June 6, 2002, the provincial government officially implemented the Electronic Procurement System by virtue of Memorandum 02-GOV-0026.
In the same year, the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental was cited by the World Bank as a “Showcase of LGU Good Practices and Innovations on Procurement” under its Country Procurement Review Program.
Other PS Depot Top Client Awardees were Bacolod City, second place; Bago City, third; Silay City, fourth; Philhealth, fifth; Sagay City, sixth; Pag-ibig Fund Bacolod, seventh; Carlos Hilado Memorial State College – Talisay, eighth; San Carlos City, ninth; and Himamaylan City, 10th place, the press release said.
