“Pay your taxes early and correctly”.

The reminder came from Josie Ric Cabrera, chief of the legal division of BIR Region 12, yesterday  who also said yesterday that the deadline for the filing of the income tax return is Tuesday and that there will be no extension.

Cabrera said BIR district offices in Negros Occidental will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Yhose who can not make it to the cut-off will be required by the Bureau of Internal Revenue to pay a civil penalty equivalent to 25 percent of the total amount due them or an additional P1,000 for those who have no amount due.

Ayala Corporation plans
to spend P187B in capex

Ayala Corporation plans to spend P187 billion in capital expenditures in 2014, the bulk of which will be allotted for Ayala Land's expansion, Globe Telecom's ongoing network improvements, Manila Water Company's service improvements, and funding for the conglomerate's expansion in power and transport infrastructure.

This was announced by Ayala president and chief operating officer Fernando Zobel de Ayala during the company's Annual Stockholder's Meeting in Makati City yesterday.

He said the 2014 CAPEX is a record surpassing last year's P128 billion, which is attributed to the group's growth strategy on the country's growing economy.

CAPGEM giving out P7M

The CAPGEM Community Multipurpose Cooperative will give P7 million in dividends to its members during their general assembly on April 23 at the L'Fisher hotel in Bacolod City, Lemuel Salido, its chairman of the board said yesterday.

Salido said the amount an active member will receive depends on the individual's capital build-up.

But he also said the members will only receive half of their dividends because the other half will be added back to their capital.
