NORSU graduates 3,592
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Negros Oriental State University graduated 3,592 from its diploma, certificate, baccalaureate and masteral degree programs during its 56th commencement exercises in the nine campuses in the province recently.

The theme of the activity was “NORSU: Creating a Dynamic Order towards Global Competitiveness”.

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, who was guest speaker for the 1,397 graduates of main campuses I and II urged them to be prepared for a new Philippines in 2020, when the country will be among the leading economies in Asia, he added.

“The preparation should start now and should involve dedication to excellence,” he said as he encouraged the graduates to have initiative and find solutions to problems. He said it is very hard to find a job even for college graduates.

University president Don Vicente Real urged the graduates to take advantage of their status as part of the learned class. He exhorted them not to give up on learning new things and in continuing to aim high. He also encouraged them to work harder and to be excellent representatives of the NORSU wherever they find employment.

The graduates were led by one summa cum laude, 64 magna cum laude and 16 cum laude.*JG
