LOPTTA players top
Albay table tennis tilt

Players from the Lopue's Table Tennis Association captured another championship as they ruled the men’s competition and finished first runner-up in the women’s category of the Daragang Mayon Festival National Table Tennis Open held in Legazpi City, Albay on April 8-10, a press release from LOPTTA said.

Isaias Seronio and Mark Francis Jimenez displayed an impressive performance by sweeping all their opponents in the the elimination round up to the final.

Seronio and Jimenez topped their bracket with a 6-0 record to secure a slot in the semifinals where they beat ALTEC team of Legazpi, 2-0.

In the championship, LOPTTA defeated HUACHING team of Cebu composed of Adolfo Bazar and Glendo Nayre.

Seronio beat Bazar in a decider, 3-2, and Jimenez sealed the win by turning back Nayre, 3-2. ALTEC settled for first runner-up honors while MENATTA landed at third place,

In the women’s competition, LOPTTA's Cherry Tiongco and Mariella Mabaquiao finished first runner-up after losing via a triple tie against UST Team A and ALTEC.

The tournament was organized by the Guinobatan Table Tennis Club in cooperation with the local government of Legazpi, sanctioned by the Table Tennis Association of the Philippines under president Ting  Ledesma.*
