Pacquiao avenges
loss to Bradley

Manny Pacquiao avenged a polarizing loss to Timothy Bradley and regained the World Boxing Organization welterweight world title yesterday with a 12-round unanimous decision over the previously unbeaten American.

Although he couldn't get his first knockout win since 2009, Pacquiao lived up to his pre-fight promise to come out with more aggression, denying Bradley's avowed aim of sending him into retirement with another defeat.

"I think I can go another two years," said Pacquiao, who had been stung by Bradley's pre-fight claim that at 35, Pacquiao had lost the fire that had made him one of the most feared fighters in the world.

Panaad renovations on
for AFC tourney

Renovations and facelifting are ongoing at the Panaad Sports Complex for the May 6-10 Asian Football Confederation President's Cup on May 6-10 that will pit Ceres-La Salle Football Club against North Korea, Turkmenistan and Chinese-Taipei, a press release from Ceres FC said.

The renovations are done by the Locs Organizing Committee chaired by Nicolas Golez, administrator of the host football club.

Golez said  the improvements, with a two-week timetable, are being done to make the venue, including the football pitch, ready for the international tournament based on standards set by the AFC, the press release said.

Ceres –La Salle wins
over Air Force, 2-1

Ceres-La Salle Football Club last night overcame a slow start to nip Airforce FC, 2-1, and post win No. 11 on its third match in the Second round of UFL's Division 2 at Nomads Sports Club in Paranaque.

Ceres' Kyum Som Chu equalized Airforce booter Ian Araneta's icebreaker in the first half with fellow Korean Jin Ho Kim sealing the win for the Negros-based players in the second canto.

Air Force forged a 1-all draw with the Ceres-LaSalle XI in their first-round encounter in January.
