Fisherman finds bomb
BY SHIELA GELERA

A 300-pounder general purpose demolition vintage bomb was found by a fisherman about 800 meters away from the shoreline in Punta Balas, Brgy. Pahanocoy in Bacolod City, at about 5 p.m. yesterday.

Jerry Villarte, 56, of Brgy. Pahanocoy recovered the bomb that had gotten entangled in his fishing net, Senior Insp. Ser Ulrick Christian Gelera, Station 8 chief said.

Villarte placed the bomb at the shoreline and the police set a yellow police cordon line around to keep people from going near it, Gelera said.

He said they have coordinated with Denny Montoya, a bomb expert of the Bacolod City Explosive Ordnance Division for the proper handling and disposal of the bomb.

Gelera said the recovery of the bomb was not the first time this happened in the barangay.*SGG
