Punta Taytay resort operates without permit

A cease-and-desist order has been issued by the Department of Agrarian Reform Regional Office against businessman Rey Francis Cabuga for illegally converting farm holdings in Brgy. Alangilan, Bacolod City for non-agricultural uses without an approved land conversion order.

Cabuga, who is developing the Metro Safari Resort in Alangilan, was also ordered by DAR regional director Alejandro Otacan to explain in writing within five days from receipt of his letter, why a criminal case for illegal conversion should not be filed against him.

The Office of the Building Official meanwhile, finally issued a notice of violation to Cabuga for operating a resort in Brgy. Punta-Taytay without the necessary building permit.moremoremore

CSC denies Monico's MR,
upholds Amago case ruling

The Civil Service Commission denied the motion for reconsideration filed by Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella and upheld its previous decision on the case of Marlou Amago whom he had assigned to the Bacolod City Mental Health Center at Paglaum, Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Puentevella was earlier directed by the CSC Director IV Rodolfo Encajonado to restore Amago to his original position as construction and maintenance general foreman of the Bacolod City Engineer's Office, and allow him to perform the functions of the position.

The CSC also invalidated the Mayor's Memorandum Order No. 028-7-13 indefinitely reassigning Amago to the BCMHC.moremoremore

Extension of BSAAR P550M

Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3 rd District) yesterday said the extension of the Bacolod Silay Airport Access Road   (BSAAR) to Victorias City is estimated to cost P550 million.

He also said work on the BSAAR extension, from the airport to the Silay proper, has began.

The P415.8-million 10.12-kilometer BSAAR from Bacolod to the airport in Silay City cuts through sugarcane fields.
