“Negros Occidental is MERS-CoV free”.

This was declared by Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, Negros Occidental provincial health officer, yesterday after the last two of six Negrenses placed under quarantine were found negative for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-Corona Virus.

The two from Bacolod were released from the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital yesterday.

The six Negrenses placed under quarantine were among the 414 on board the Etihad Airways flight EY0424 that arrived in the Philippines on April 15, where one of their co-passengers was initially found positive for MERS-CoV.moremoremore
