The University of St. La Salle conferred the Signum Lasallianum Award on the Negrense Volunteers for Change Foundation Inc., at rites held at the Santuario de La Salle in Bacolod City Saturday.
The Signum Lasallianum Award is a recognition of high distinction that acknowledges the contribution of a person or group to their profession in the service of humanity, in the spirit of faith, service and communion in mission, Bro. Raymundo Suplido, USLS president and chancellor, said.
USLS cited NVC “for its exemplary contribution to the betterment of Philippine education and the furtherance of the La Sallian mission of providing quality Christian education to the young, especially the underserved and marginalized.”

Disc jockeys from Bacolod, Iloilo, Manila, and even Belgium entertained music lovers and partygoers from various parts of the country, flocked to the City of Smiles to sing, dance and make merry.
Love Dance producer, Jul Davi Saez, said the second revelry was a success, and drew more than 8,000, or almost four times more than last year's audience of around 2,500.
Love Dance is Negros' version of an electronic music festival that incorporates and appreciates the value of music, youth and love.
Event director Ryan Anthony Saez said the festival aims to promote unity, positivity, and love through music. The event showcased electro-dance music, that anyone – young and old – could relate to, he added.
Belgian DJ, Kelvin Gate, said, “Performing here in Bacolod is wonderful. There are a lot of smiling faces. You can actually play whatever music you want and people are so nice.”
Bacolod DJ Clyde Harris said, Love Dance is the first electronic music festival in Bacolod. “Everyone is embracing it. Everyone is excited and having a good vibe.”
The event is a representation of love among the young. Negros Love Dance is about bringing the youth in one place and being able to unite them for one day.
In Love Dance, there is unity through music. It symbolizes love, Saez said.*
