The Junior Rams of University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos enjoy a four-game winning streak in the 2014 Coca Cola PBA YoungStars Bacolod eliminations at the West Negros University Gym.
Tournament records show the UNO-Rians prevailing over Mansilingan Christian Academy, 81-68, to claim their first victim then followed it up with a 67-62 victory against University of St. La Salle Team B.
The young Rams' registered their third win at the expense of St. Benilde School, 67-31, and maintained their unblemished record with a 78-42 rout of the Big Shots.
Hot on the trail of UNO-R is the West Negros University Junior Mustangs who got away with an 80-76 win against USLS Team B and a dominant 77-49 performance against the Big Shots.
Meanwhile, the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbols blew away USLS Team A, 105-52, to make their presence felt in the tournament.
JM Pedrosa and Errol Pastor led the Thunderbolts with 26 points each, while Miguel Corteza added 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
Kaiser Tuhao and Joshua Fuentebella topscored for the La Sallians with 15 points apiece, while Riggy Alinsoring chipped in 13, and Jurenzel Rivera and Polo Lopingco tallied 12 points each.
Earlier, Tay Tung beat NHOJs, 88-64, while St. Johns Institute dumped Trinity Christian School, 71-48, and Tangub Christian Academy, 117-70, to heat up the race to the top of the team standings.*
