Some of the victims were brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, and some to the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital, Police Officer 2 Sonny Pesales, traffic investigator of the Police Station 5, said yesterday.

Investigations showed that the rented jeepney of the victims, with plate number FWZ 915, driven by Dobrea, was travelling west of Sitio Arceo when its brakes malfunctioned.

Dobrea lost control of the steering wheel and the jeepney fell into the drainage, Pesales said.

He said the victims were on their way home from the Campuestohan Highland Resort in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
